Ha... Ha... Ha... Holidays!

During my career I've witnessed significant increase in teaching workload. On average Australian teachers work 3-4 hours overtime each day.

Lucky it's holidays? Not really!

Most teachers mark assessment items during holidays. Furthermore academic staff complete reports and prepare for the next term, publishing curriculum documents and creating term overviews. To make the most of life, work commitments must be continually evaluated to ensure priorities are not compromised.

Aim for eight hours work, eight hours rest and eight hours play each day. Healthy lifestyle and partitioning of time will ensure you function at your personal best. We all know that teaching isn't 8 - 3. Remember though that there's a difference between earning a living and having life.

Work.
Rest.
Play.

Enjoy your holidays.
