Glazed Donuts
A delicious treat thats ideal for breakfast or dessert are homemade glazed donuts. These donuts have an enticing sweet glaze coating them and are soft and fluffy
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt
In another bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract
Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until a dough forms
Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350F 175C
Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/2-inch thickness
Use a donut cutter to cut out donut shapes, and a smaller cutter for the holes
Carefully drop the donuts into the hot oil, frying until golden brown on each side about 2 minutes per side
Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil
For the glaze, mix 1 cup powdered sugar and 2 tbsp milk until smooth
Dip each donut into the glaze and let it set for a few minutes
